Although she didn’t start taking flight lessons until after graduating from Texas A&M University, it was always a huge part of her life growing up. Her dad and three older brothers are all airline pilots and her mom is a flight attendant, so aviation is at the center of her family. Kendra Dahl
Flight Instructor
Kendra began flying in college when several members of a student flying organization encouraged her to take a discovery flight. Like many aviators, she was “bit by the aviation bug” and has been hooked on flying ever since. She went on to finish her degree in Civil Engineering and worked as an engineer for a few years before deciding to pursue a career as a professional pilot. Originally from Minnesota, she has lived in Wisconsin, Texas, Ohio, and Colorado, and consequently has a wide variety of flying experience. Murray Hawthorne
Flight Instructor
A native of Michigan, following ROTC and an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, Murray’s aviation career started as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army back in 1987. After 10 years, 1,000+ flight hrs, service at USAAVNC as a UH-60A Blackhawk helicopter CFII, and promotion to the rank of Major, he decided to leave active duty Army aviation in exchange for a career in the medical device manufacturing industry. His interest in aviation reignited 15 years later when he added ASEL credentials to his Commercial RW and CFII certificates. His ASEL cross country day, night, IMC experience exceeds 60,000 NM with destinations including Naples Fl, Rutland VT, Mackinaw Island MI, Anchorage AK, Bellingham WA, Santa Ana CA, and over 60 airports in between. He says he added the AGI and IGI ratings to his Ground Instructor Certificate “just for the fun of it.”

Ryan Hernbloom
Flight Instructor
Ryan’s had a passion for aviation since he can remember and took his first flight at the age of 12 with the Civil Air Patrol. After obtaining his private pilot certificate at 19, he went on to receive his instrument, commercial multi and single engine ratings, and eventually his flight instructor certificates. One of his favorite highlights in aviation was flying in a C-130 to DIA for its opening air show. He has flown to airports around the country like Sedona, Arizona and San Diego, California in two of his favorite aircraft, the Diamond Twin Star and the Cirrus SR22T. His greatest thrill, however, is seeing his students obtain the flying and decision making skills necessary to become safe and competent pilots.

Tim Sale
Flight Instructor
Tim Sale has been flying in the Rockies for almost 40 years. His first mountain experience was in a Piper J-3 Cub. The J-3 Cub is grossly underpowered and flying one in the mountains takes a lot of skill.
Tim’s students come from all over the USA and Canada to learn how to fly in the Rockies.
His approach is to teach pilots how to safely fly in the mountains, not just over them.
Tim will develop your skills on how to extract the maximum performance from your aircraft and use the terrain conditions in the mountains to their greatest extent.
